The Essex Board of Health will hold a combined H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccine clinic for Essex residents on Tuesday, November 24, from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Essex Elementary School Gymnasium.
There is no charge for these vaccines, but please bring your medical insurance information with you, so that we may submit for administration reimbursement. To facilitate the vaccine administration, we recommend that you wear a shirt with loose fitting sleeves.
H1N1 VACCINE INFORMATION
H1N1 vaccinations are available in limited amounts in the flu mist and injectible form. Between 4-5 p.m., administration will be restricted to pre-school aged children
All priority groups listed below can receive vaccine between 5-7 p.m., or as long as vaccine supply lasts. Healthy people listed in the priority group below who are age 2 through 49 are encouraged to use the flu mist inhalable form so that the injectible vaccine is reserved for those who are restricted to its use.
Clinic priority groups for H1N1 vaccine –
ØPregnant women
ØHousehold contacts of pregnant women in the final trimester of pregnancy
ØHousehold contacts of babies under 6 months of age
ØChildren aged 6 months to 9 years old
SEASONAL FLU VACCINE INFORMATION
Seasonal flu vaccine is available in the flu mist and injectible form to anyone seeking to receive it between the hours of 4-7 p.m. The flu mist vaccine may be used by healthy people between the ages of 2 through 49.
